Handfasting Dress
This is a two piece dress made of a combination of silk and satin fabrics. The top has soft double
layered cap type sleeves with elastic for versatility of fit. The back laces with ribbon ties also enabling a
more custom fit. Hand sewn pearls adorn both the top and skirt. The skirt is made of silk and satin
panels. There is a wide elastic waist for comfort which can be worn at the waist or down on the hips.
After your handfasting you will still enjoy wearing the top and skirt together or separately.

sewn pearls on the matching satin ribbon that goes down the front and around the fully lined hood. You

- Coming from a crown of silk roses and fresia flowers is a two tiered floor length veil. The rolled
hem edge gives a beautiful finishing touch. The bridal blush veil can be worn back or over the face.

As someone who loves creating wonderful blends of herbs and flowers for special
people and their special occasions I draw on an extensive cupboard of dried herbs, flowers and leaves
to create my handfasting toss. I make them to be pleasing to both your eye and sense of smell. I am always adding new and wonderful things to my cupboard
so the toss
will have some or all of the flowers, herbs, and leaves listed below, but not necessarily limited to just
this list: Lavender, rosemary, roses, peony petals, hibiscus, spearmint, eucalyptus, linden leaves, jasmine flowers, chamomile flowers, elder flowers,
meadowsweet, thyme, orange blossoms.

Handfasting
An ancient Celtic wedding ritual in which the bride's and groom's hands are tied together —hence the phrase "tying the knot". It was a part of the normal marriage ceremony in the time of the Roman Empire. In the 16th century, the English cleric Myles Coverdale wrote in The Christen State of Matrymonye, that in that day, handfasting was still in use in some places, but was then separate from the Christian wedding rite performed in a church several weeks after the consummation of the marriage, which had already begun with the handfasting ritual.
