Spirit Bowls
Spirit Bowls have had many names and methods of use but are something, in principal, shared by many cultures. They have been made of stone, gourds, ceramics, glass, even a hollow dug in the earth. The traditions vary as do the materials. Spirit Bowls have also been called Offering Bowls because they were used for holding offerings to Spirit.
One tradition of a Spirit Bowl was a vessel, usually made from a gourd by a Shaman, as a place for the soul "spirit" to reside while you were journeying. A feather was kept in the bottom of the bowl as your link and way back. You were to hold the bowl while journeying or meditating going down to the feather. When you wanted to return you took the same path from the feather only in reverse. Each Spirit Bowl we craft comes with a feather for this is the tradition we honor. In modern times Spirit Bowls are used to represent spirit or animal guides.
